Phase one of the conveyor belt assembly took place today. A couple rollers were used to determine the length of the belt required for optimal performance. The drive shaft was inserted on the end and a manual test was applied to confirm that the belt/roller interface provided enough friction for motion.

The circuit box was loosely placed on the system to verify its dimensions were suitable and that it provided the appropriate light conditions for the operation of the lasers and camera. The spacing between the objects and the box was found to be too larger and an additional light blocking mechanism is required at these locations.
